After using your outboard engine in saltwater, it is important to flush the motor with freshwater and wash using freshwater and mild soap to remove all salt and grime.
The general schedule for servicing your Mercury & Suzuki Outboard Engines is:
Mercury: 3 months or 20 hours (whichever comes first). Then every 12 months or 100 hours – again, whichever comes first.
Suzuki: 2 months or 20 hours (whichever comes first). Then every 12 months or 100 hours – again, whichever comes first.
